A Small Act of Support Can Change the Direction of a Life
At HomesUnited Ministries, many women arrive during one of the most difficult moments of their lives. Some are recovering from trauma, illness, or homelessness. Others are working to rebuild their lives after a crisis. Through partnerships with community providers, these women are referred to HomesUnited Ministries where they can receive safe, stable housing and supportive services. For a limited time, their housing is funded through specialized recovery housing programs known as Respite Beds and Bridge Beds. These programs provide a critical foundation for stability — but they are temporary.
What Happens When Funding Ends?
Most women stay in a funded bed for three to six months. During that time, they begin working toward stability by:
-
- Seeking employment
- Applying for disability benefits
- Enrolling in job training or education programs
- Addressing health and recovery needs
- Building a plan for long-term independence
For many residents, this progress takes time and when their funded stay ends, some women still need a little more time to stabilize their lives before they can fully support themselves. Without support during this transition, they risk losing the stability they worked so hard to build.
HomesUnited’s Transitional Housing Support
To prevent women from losing their progress, HomesUnited Ministries offers a Lower Level of Continued Care housing option, where residents can remain in a safe and supportive environment while continuing their journey toward independence. Some residents transition to self-pay housing, contributing what they can while they work toward employment, disability benefits, education or other types of income. But many women simply cannot make that transition immediately. That is where compassionate donors make a life-changing difference.
Your Support Helps Bridge the Gap
When you donate, you help provide:
-
- A safe bed and stable housing environment.
- Time for a woman to secure employment, education, benefits.
- Continued access to supportive housing staff.
- Stability while completing education or recovery programs.
- The opportunity to move forward instead of falling backward.
Your generosity helps ensure that a woman who has already made progress does not lose her housing during this critical transition period.
