Help Someone Drive to a Better Life

At HomesUnited Ministries, our Workforce Development Program prepares clients to find jobs, succeed in interviews, and keep the employment they worked so hard to earn. The men and women in our programs are already doing everything right — completing job training, applying for positions, rebuilding their lives after crisis. But one barrier stops more job offers than any other: transportation.

Without a reliable way to get to an interview or a shift, a qualified, motivated person can lose an opportunity they spent months preparing for. A missed bus becomes a missed interview. An unreliable ride becomes a lost job. Your gift removes that barrier.

What Happens Without Reliable Transportation?

Our clients are working toward stability by:

  • Completing job training and education programs
  • Attending job interviews across the county
  • Accepting shifts that public transit can’t reach — early mornings, nights, weekends
  • Getting to work on time, every day, to keep the jobs they earn

For many, the difference between employment and losing everything they’ve built comes down to a working vehicle or the funds to keep one on the road. That is where compassionate donors make a life-changing difference.

Support the Program with a Gift

Your financial gift covers the real, practical costs of getting our clients safely on the road and keeping them employed — fuel for interviews, insurance and registration, safety repairs, and preparing donated vehicles for the clients who receive them.

The Impact of Your Gift

Your support provides mobility when it matters most.

Donation Impact
$100 Provides a week of gas for job interviews, training, and getting to work.
$800 Covers six months of vehicle registration and insurance for a program participant.
$1,500 Goes toward minor car repairs or paying off driver fees so a client can legally get back on the road.
$3,500 Puts a client in a vehicle — with tags, registration, and insurance included.

Every contribution helps a trained, motivated person accept a job offer, commute reliably, and support their family.

Give the Gift of Mobility Today

Donate a Working Vehicle – Email

Have a car you no longer need? A donated vehicle in good working condition goes directly to a program client who needs it to get to work — not to an auction lot. Your car becomes someone’s commute, someone’s paycheck, someone’s fresh start.

What We Can Accept

  • Cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs in working condition
  • The owner must hold a clear title, in hand, ready to transfer
  • Vehicles that are safe and reliable enough for daily commuting, or need only minor repairs

What We Can’t Accept

  • Non-running vehicles or vehicles needing major mechanical repair
  • Vehicles without a clear, transferable title

Because donated vehicles go directly to working clients, we can only accept vehicles that are ready — or nearly ready — for the road. Thank you for understanding.

How Vehicle Donation Works

  1. Tell us about your vehicle — fill out the contact form below with the make, model, year, condition, and your location.
  2. We’ll contact you to confirm eligibility and schedule a free, convenient pickup — including the title transfer.
  3. Receive your tax receipt — HomesUnited Ministries is a registered 501(c)(3), and we’ll provide the IRS documentation for your deduction.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept cars that don’t run?

No. Because donated vehicles go directly to program clients who need them for work, we can only accept vehicles in working condition. If your vehicle needs only minor repairs, contact us — we may still be able to accept it.

What paperwork do I need?

You must have the vehicle’s clear title in hand and be ready to transfer ownership at pickup. We are unable to accept vehicles without a transferable title.

What types of vehicles do you accept?

Working cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs — vehicles a client can realistically use for daily commuting.

Will I have to pay for towing or transport?

No. Pickup is completely free, and we’ll schedule it at a time that works for you.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. HomesUnited Ministries is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. You’ll receive a receipt for your vehicle or cash donation for your tax records.

Where does my cash gift go?

Gifts to the Workforce Development Program fund transportation and job-access costs for program clients: fuel, insurance, registration, safety repairs, and preparing donated vehicles for the clients who receive them.
